The Electronic Library Catalog is developed and maintained in the Computer Centre of the University.

The Electronic Library Catalog consists of two databases - BOOKS and PERIODICS, developed by means of CDS/ISIS.

The user can search in each of the two databases by signature, title, authors, publisher, year of publishing, subject (index) or by all fields.

The searched character string must contain at least three (3) symbols. Truncating is possible only at the end of line and is given by an asterisc (*). Characters not allowed in the string are $ ^ # " and some other special ASCII-high-characters.

In subject search (search by subject) users must enter the index of Some subject indexes/a> can be seen in the list below.

The type of searching can be:

1. simple search of a character string in one, several or all fields.
2. complex search of logical combinations (united with AND, OR, NOT) where the user can define different character strings for searching in different or one and the same fields.
3. professional search, which is a combination of complex search and review of all possible words for searching (in the ISIS dictionary), where the user can choose any of them.
